Upstate Film & TV Industry Forum

South Carolina production industry professionals will present insight on the state’s film and television industry at the Upstate Film & TV Industry Forum on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10a-4p at the Governor’s School for Arts & Humanities in Greenville.

Sponsored by the Governor’s School and the South Carolina Film Commission, this cross section of producers, filmmakers, and VFX artists will be joined by representatives from Clemson University, South Carolina’s Indie Grants, and Governor’s School Film Department faculty.

The seminar will begin with an interactive course on the process of taking an idea all the way to the screen, taught by a two-time Emmy nominated Producer Sam Sokolow. This section will delve into how the film and television industry works in South Carolina – particularly physical production – and the jobs, roles, and vendor infrastructure that entails.

The program will also include a section on VFX with Greenville-based production house So Krispy and a panel on Creating Content in South Carolina with Destiny Macon (Talk Black), Geoffrey Gunn (Money by Sundown), DP John Carrington, and Producer Taylor Shanton.

A panel on educational resources from Governor’s School industry professional faculty members will round out the day.

The program is ideal for all levels of experience, especially those in the process of establishing careers or a client base in the industry.

The event is FREE and open to the public. Register at the link below.
