Biographical Info

In 1996, Martin Bluford opened the Charleston, SC office for High Output, South Carolina’s leading source for lighting, grip, expendables and production support for film, video, still photography and theatrical productions.

A graduate of Bowdoin College in Maine, Bluford was born in Chicago, grew up in Northern California and spent 16 years in New York City, where he sold film and television rights for The Dial Press, read scripts for Disney, and learned commercial and documentary film production from The Maysles Brothers.

Over the past 20+ years High Output has supported major motion picture and television projects in the Carolinas ranging from The Notebook and The Patriot to Army Wives, Reckless, The Righteous Gemstones, Halloween, Mr. Mercedes and Outer Banks. High Output Savannah opened in 2016andhassupported projects including Underground,The Lady and the Tramp,Poison Rose and The Peanut Butter Falcon.

Bluford’s contributions to the CFA over the past 12 years include persistent efforts to refine and improve South Carolina’sfilm incentives, while addingHigh Output’s broader perspective in working with producers, crew and state film offices in Georgia and Massachusetts.
