Everything starts with the Pitch. Boiling down your great story idea to its key elements in a succinct, compelling presentation. Without this skill, filmmakers won’t get very far. On May 4 at 2 PM, South Carolina writers and other production professionals will get to see this process first hand at the WIDE ANGLE PITCH CONFERENCE at Trident Technical College.
WIDE ANGLE is an ongoing production lab with the intent of boosting diversity and inclusion in the production community. Over the last seven months, 15 South Carolina filmmakers have been developing film, television and web content under the tutelage of Effie T. Brown. The lab will culminate on May 4 with the participants pitching their projects in five minutes or less to a panel of industry professionals and a live audience.
The panel will offer feedback on each pitch to help prepare the filmmakers for actual shopping and development. The event will be open to all South Carolina content creators so that they can observe the process, learn from the panel’s critiques, and consider how to best develop and present their own projects. (Please note: Only Wide Angle participants will be able to pitch during the conference.)
The conference is free and open to the public. A simple registration is required. REGISTER HERE.
It will take place in Building 970 at Trident Technical College’s North Charleston campus (7000 Rivers Ave., North Charleston). Click here for map.
