It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of long-time Charleston Vendor and treasured collaborator to the South Carolina Film Industry, Melissa Ward Hunter. Melissa lost her 5 year battle with Ovarian Cancer on March 7th, 2022 at just 55 years old.
The Charleston Library Society will welcome Jonas Pate, one of the creators of hit Netflix series “Outer Banks,” which was filmed in the Lowcountry.
Pate will take part in a speaker series from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 21. He’ll discuss what it’s like to film in Charleston, have a career as a filmmaker and meet the challenges that emerge when creating a new show.
While specifics are still to be ironed out, TT&B has met with staff of both committees and we are on track to get a significant amount of funding from the Legislature this year.
