More than half a dozen Charleston-area nonprofits will see a stream of donations as filming wraps on the third season of HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones.”

Since the first season, the crew of Danny McBride’s televangelist comedy, which is filmed in Charleston, has sent prop, décor, costume and food donations to area nonprofits.

The list keeps growing, according to Laura Tassinari, assistant production coordinator, and Tamsin Anstey, the show’s co-producer.

To date, the crew has donated $10,000 in items, which doesn’t include food donations. Food from the crew’s daily meals ends up constituting the bulk of the show’s donations during filming, Tassinari said.
