The Charleston Library Society will welcome Jonas Pate, one of the creators of hit Netflix series “Outer Banks,” which was filmed in the Lowcountry.
Pate will take part in a speaker series from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 21. He’ll discuss what it’s like to film in Charleston, have a career as a filmmaker and meet the challenges that emerge when creating a new show.
Though they grew up in the North Carolina Outer Banks, Pate and twin brother Josh spent a lot of time in Charleston during their youth, since their parents owned S.N.O.B., High Cotton and a number of other local restaurants.
In addition to “Outer Banks,” Pate wrote and directed “The Grave,” “Deceiver,” and “The Take.” He co-created “Good vs. Evil” and “Surface.”
